Between the red hills of the Rougier de Camarès, the cool river that runs alongside the village, and the charming streets of rural Aveyron, our little corner of paradise invites you to slow down, enjoy the moment, and reconnect with what truly matters.
Camping Vert Lavande is a friendly, nature-focused, 3-star campsite where simplicity, authenticity and well-being come together. We, Véronique and Javier, settled here in 2023, drawn by the beauty of southern Aveyron and the desire to share a place that reflects who we are: warm, genuine and rejuvenating. With over 25 years of experience, we pour our hearts into making your stay a truly memorable escape — filled with laughter, nature and meaningful encounters.
Here, everything unfolds at a gentle pace: fresh bread and pastries just steps away, the campsite guinguette to linger over summer evenings, the river for a refreshing dip, and countless paths to explore on foot, by bike or on horseback. A true Occitan stopover, at the crossroads of the Rougier, the Tarn Gorges and the Grands Causses, where every day begins with a smile… and ends beneath the stars.

The Guinguette: the beating heart of the campsite
At the Guinguette, you come as you are, with the simple desire to feel good. It’s a lively, genuine place, where smiles meet, voices mingle, and every moment is savored.
Aperitifs often mark the start of these special moments: our apéro boards, made with local products from the nearby farm, are a true invitation to share and discover. The aroma of grilled meats fills the air, salads burst with freshness and color, and every dish tells a story of local terroir and passion.
And the ice cream? Enjoy it anytime — no rules, no schedule — just whenever your heart desires. A simple, sweet pleasure that prolongs smiles and accompanies laughter.
If the weather turns, the indoor dining area, just as welcoming as the terrace, keeps the spirit of the Guinguette alive: conviviality, shared pleasure, and a sense of togetherness.
The Guinguette is a place open to everyone — campers, neighbors, villagers, or visitors from further afield — a space where everyone quickly feels at home. Meals often start at one table and end at another, carried along by conversation, new connections, and the light-heartedness that only holidays can bring.
When the fairy lights turn on and the evening gently settles, you know: here, you belong — simply and truly.
A Village with a Soul
Belmont-sur-Rance is home to barely a thousand souls… yet what a lively place! Life here is marked by passing tractors, the work of sheep farmers, and the seasons that shape the landscape. Nearly thirty farms remind us how deeply rural this area remains, rooted in its values and proud to contribute to the tradition of Roquefort cheese.
But Belmont is also a community where everyone finds their place and contributes in their own way. The village hosts an ESAT (a workshop for people with disabilities) where meaningful and remarkable work is carried out. We are proud to say that our apéro boards are crafted in their carpentry workshop, and our bed linens are cared for in their laundry.
In Belmont, life flows gently along stone streets and past small local shops, creating a sincere and authentic atmosphere. Activity seekers will not be disappointed: an equestrian center, internationally renowned karting, a glider airfield visible from the campsite, and a public swimming pool for all ages during the summer season.
Overlooking the village, the 16th-century collegiate church watches gracefully. In the morning, the sun rises behind it; in the evening, its stones glow golden as the sun sets behind the cliffs.
Belmont-sur-Rance is a true, deeply human village, where nature, craftsmanship, and solidarity come together in a simple and precious harmony.
The River: Sweet Moments Along the Water
Along the edge of the campsite, the Rance River flows peacefully, inviting you to slow down.
Its gentle murmur accompanies summer days, between bursts of laughter and quiet, reflective moments. On its banks, life unfolds at its own pace: children watch the fish gliding through the clear water, dreamers nap in the shade of a tree, and anglers keep an eye out for trout darting between sunlit ripples.
Good to know for enthusiasts: classified as a first-category fishing river, the Rance is ideal for trout fishing, especially thanks to the regular stocking organized by the local fishing association (fishing permit required, available at Elisabeth’s store in the village mini-market).
Here, everything feels simple and genuine.
Water flows over the pebbles, the wind brushes through tall grasses, and sometimes, as the heat fades, the croaking of frogs rises like a gentle evening lullaby.
It’s a little world of its own, alive yet discreet, where nature makes its presence felt at every turn.
The Rance is more than just a river: it’s a calm companion, a daily friend. It offers walkers the perfect pause and gives everyone that rare feeling of being exactly where they’re meant to be.
Here, by the water, you breathe, you listen, you reconnect.
In Aveyron, our campsite is nestled in a NATURAL HAVEN — and we’re committed to preserving it!
The name Vert Lavande is no coincidence… Our campsite is a green paradise, with a variety of trees and flowers carefully tended to delight our insect friends. Located along the Rance River, you’ll witness nature at its finest — it’s not uncommon to spot playful squirrels or curious rabbits along the way.
We are incredibly fortunate to be at the heart of the Grands Causses Regional Natural Park (the third-largest regional park in France — nothing less!).
We source as much as possible from local producers (wines, beers, lemonades, vegetables), and our charcuterie is even made in a nearby village farm.
We’ve chosen to provide WiFi only around the main building, so the many birds living on the campsite can thrive peacefully with fewer disturbances (and so can our campers 😀).
